Lightning could be to blame for Gibson County garage fire

 

Lightning is the apparent cause of a garage fire in Gibson County.  It broke out early Tuesday morning on County Line Road 750 after officials say lightning may have struck a power line.

No one was hurt and firefighters were able to get the blaze under control quickly.

Titans advance, ending Merkel's long coaching career

The Gibson Southern Titans knocked off Memorial 7-4 at Braun Stadium on Monday, advancing in the IHSAA Class 3A Sectional.

The loss ended the long career of Tigers' coach Quentin Merkel, who spent 45 years on the job.

There's a nice, relaxing fire in the pit, but off in the distance a storm rolls in to put the damper on the the three day weekend. 

This was in Gibson County Monday night.

Much of the Tri-State saw some wind, rain and a little thunder but there were no severe storms.

It should be quieter--and warmer--the next couple of days.

Haubstadt police department renovations

HAUBSTADT, IN (WFIE)-

The Haubstadt Police Department was renovated at the very beginning of this year and renovations were finished in March, but not many people have seen them yet.

Town hall had set aside money to spruce up the old police department. Everything was redone from new carpets to new ceilings to insulated walls.

The Marshall says that the project, which also included an expansion, was extensive.

"It utilized some space that was there that was there that wasn't set up for being utilized," says Glenn Munnier.

Princeton community comes together for mother shot by ex-boyfriend

PRINCETON, IN (WFIE)-

The Princeton community is coming together to remember Jesica Tice.

The mother of three was gunned down Wednesday outside of a crowded Princeton restaurant.

Tice's co-worker at Casey's General Store told 14 News that the funeral will be at Bethel Memorial Church on Monday. The viewing will be from 10:00 to 1:00 and the funeral will follow, starting at 1:00.  Doyle Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.

Child molestation suspect arrested in Arkansas; returned to Gibson County

 

A suspect in a Gibson County child molestation case has been returned to Indiana after being arrested in Arkansas.

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old  Jeffrey Pannell is a suspect in two separate criminal cases.  They say he left the area after the investigation came to a close.

The first warrant involves child molestation charges, the second warrant includes charges of criminal confinement, sexual battery and sexual conduct in the presence of a minor. All are felonies.

PRINCETON, IN (WFIE)- A Gibson county man has been charged with the murder of the mother of his child.

Jason Perry is accused of shooting Jesica Tice in front of their 13-year-old son on Wednesday in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant in Princeton.
