Gibson County Theatre presents 'Lend Me a Tenor'

The Gibson County Theatre Company Presents "Lend Me a Tenor" next Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 8-10.

This comedy by playwright Ken Ludwig takes place on a historic night at the Cleveland Opera Company, world-famous tenor Tito Morelli is to perform in Othello. Through a series of mishaps, Tito receives a double dose of tranquilizers, causing the house manager to believe he is dead and setting off a chain reaction of slapstick and mistaken identity.

The play will be at the Lowell North Auditorium (old high school) with performances at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The Phantom is coming to GSHS stage

The Gibson Southern High School Theatre will close their 39th season with the award winning The Phantom of the Opera, bringing the classic story to the Gibson Southern stage for the first time. The show will run March 14-17, 2013 inside the high school's theatre.

Phantom opened on Broadway in 1988. It won the 1986 Olivier Award and the 1988 Tony Award for Best Musical.

Gibson Southern Theatre offers a select number of VIP Tickets for each of their own productions.

Special Addition to Toyota's Visitors Center

There is a new addition to Toyota's Visitors Center in Princeton: a 1967 Toyota Corona, one of the first vehicles ever made by Toyota, and the one that established Toyota's success in the U.S.

Corona, the first popular Toyota in America, was designed specifically for American drivers. With a powerful engine, factory-installed air conditioning and an automatic transmission, Corona helped increase U.S. sales of Toyota vehicles threefold in 1966 to more than 20,000 units.

It came from another museum in California and will be in Princeton for about two years.

The Gibson County Theatre Company will present weekend performances of the comedy, “A Bad Year for Tomatoes”, June 8th and 9th at 7 pm and June 10 at 2 pm at the Gibson County Fairgrounds Activities Building.

Concessions will be a sold at all shows and the Hilltop Tavern will have a cash bar for the Friday and Saturday night shows.

Art Among the Azaleas set for Saturday

Saturday may be Derby Day, but before the Run for the Roses you can walk through the Azaleas...and check out some art in the process.

The Azalea Path Arboretum and Botanical Gardens is hosting the Art Among the Azaleas artist showcase Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

Tickets are $15 and include artist demonstrations with complimentary beverages and hors d'oeuvres as well as live entertainment and wine tasting.
