A Greenville, KY man is in jail after Indiana State Police say they stopped him in Gibson County for having only one headlight and found marijuana in his car.

The trooper was operating stationary radar on US 41 south of SR 168 about 12:15 a.m. when he says he saw the pickup truck and stopped it near Coal Mine Road.

2 men charged in multiple thefts from Rural King

WRUL Radio reports that two Wayne County men are facing charges they stole numerous items from Rural King stores in Illinois and Indiana.

The station reports that Shawn Nettleton, 34, and Jerry Bowers, 43,  were caught on surveillance video at the store in Marion, IL.  Police say the two also stole farm and hunting equipment from stores in Effingham, IL and Princeton, IN.

Bowers is due in court on November 8. Nettleton has a hearing on November 26.

Gibson Co. man arrested for failure to register as a sex offender

Friday morning, October 26, at approximately 11:30, Indiana State Police and members of the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested Dustin Eugene Cox, 22, of Hazelton, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, a Class D Felony.

Detectives from the Indiana State Police Cyber Crimes Section were conducting compliance checks in Gibson County to ensure convicted sex offenders were registering as required by law.  During their investigation they determined Cox, a convicted sex offender, had moved in early July from an address in Vincennes to an address in Hazelton. They say Cox failed to inform the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department of his recent move to 107 North Tennessee Street in Hazelton.

Princeton man among those charged in Mexico-U.S. pot trafficking case

Ten people, including a Princeton man and several other Tri-State residents, have been arrested by federal authorities on charges of conspiring to import a ton of marijuana for distribution in southwest Indiana, western Kentucky and Georgia since 2009.

The Princeton Daily Clarion reports Aaron Hardiman, 30, was arrested Friday by U.S. Marshals in Princeton.  He’s been indicted on conspiracy to distribute controlled substance, according to the case docket of the U.S. District Court in Evansville.

In late August, a grand jury returned sealed indictments against Haridman and several others from Evansville and other states.  The marijuana, court documents say, was shipped by commercial tractor-trailers and other vehicles from the Gulf Cartel in Mexico.

The Pike County man who led police on a high speed chase through three tri-state counties back in April is sentenced to 11 ½ years in prison.

The final charges listed for 24-year-old Justin Gordan are criminal confinement, attempted armed robbery and fleeing in a vehicle.

A 20-year-old Princeton man has been sentenced to nine years in state prison following a string of residential burglaries that occurred between November 2011 and January of this year.

Cody R. Stapleton pleaded guilty to three charges of residential burglary and theft according to our media partner, the Princeton Daily Clarion.

Trial date set for man charged in DUI wreck that killed Princeton woman

The Illinois man accused of causing the accident that killed a Princeton woman in June is scheduled to go on trial in late January.

Anthony J. Yokel, 25, is accused of testing positive for alcohol and marijuana in his system at the time of the crash that killed 20-year-old Lauren Hale.  Yokel is facing felony counts of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resulting in death, and a misdemeanor count of criminal recklessness with a vehicle.
