Groundbreaking moment for local wounded warrior | Families

Oakland City native Alex Dillmann was presented a new gun just before Christmas and today Alex and his wife Holly are watching the construction of their dream home.
Homes for our Troops is building the pair a home in Florida.
Alex served two tours in Afghanistan. In February 2011, Alex's vehicle was hit by a mounted IED.
Alex suffered multiple leg and face fractures, punctured lungs and a serious spinal cord injury.
He was just released from the Shepherd Center in December and spent the holidays with family in Oakland City.
The couple says they are excited about the groundbreaking of their new home and appreciative of everyone who has helped them in their journey. The house should be completed in the spring.
