Gibson County extends burn, fireworks ban
The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says the emergency declaration banning open burning and personal fireworks has been extended until July 19. The ban could be extended again at that point depending on weather conditions.
State law says anyone who knowingly, intentionally, or recklessly violates this declaration commits a Class B Misdemeanor and may be fined and/or imprisoned pursuant to law.
Personal fireworks and other open burning is prohibited while this declaration is in effect. This does not however limit the use of gas or charcoal grills, which can be used.
