Gibson Co. man hurt in wreck near Haubstadt

A Fort Branch man was hurt Wednesday afternoon when the car he was riding in was struck by a semi.

Indiana State Police say it happened just before 2 p.m. on US 41 at S.R. 68.

Troopers say their preliminary investigation revealed Rone Bratcher, 49, of Sikeston, MO, was driving a 2010 Freightliner southbound on U.S. 41 when he ran through the stoplight and collided with a 2006 Buick that was eastbound on S.R. 68.

The driver of the Buick, William McConnel, 67, of Patoka, was not injured but a front seat passenger, Norman Stevens, 64, of Fort Branch, received a head injury and was taken to Deaconess Hospital where he is currently being treated for a non-life threatening injury.

Both drivers and passenger were wearing their seat belts.

Bratcher was cited for disregarding an automatic signal.
