Semi driver allegedly ignores stoplight, causing accident | News

GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE)- One man is in the hospital, recovering from injuries he sustained when a semi truck driver reportedly ignored a red light on southbound U.S. Highway 41 at State Road 68.
It happened around 1:50 p.m. on January 2nd.
Indiana State Police say 49-year-old Rone Bratcher of Sikeston, MO, was driving a 2010 Freightliner southbound on U.S. 41 approaching S.R. 68 when he disregarded the stoplight and collided into a 2006 Buick that was eastbound on S.R. 68.
The driver of the Buick, 67-year-old William McConnel of Patoka, was not injured.
McConnel's front seat passenger, Norman Stevens, 64, of Fort Branch, received a head injury and was taken to Deaconess Hospital where he is currently being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Both drivers and passenger were wearing their seat belts. Bratcher was cited for "disregarding an automatic signal."
