GIBSON CO., IN (WFIE)- A former Gibson County custodian, accused of making meth on school property, is looking to make a plea deal.

That's according to our media partner, the Princeton Daily Clarion.

The proposal for Michael C. Shafer, of Oakland City, reduces a Class A felony charge of making meth within 1,000 feet of a school to a Class B felony and drops charges of possession of meth, precursors and dumping controlled substance waste.

Police discovered remnants of a one pot meth lab about a year ago at Wood Memorial High School.

The judge says he'll take the plea under advisement.

A sentencing hearing for Shafer is scheduled for Tuesday, February 26.
