ISP: Woman arrested for harassing Oakland City staff

A  woman is arrested in Oakland City on intimidation and harassment charges. Indiana State Police say 46-year old Jacqueline Davis, of Loogootee, intimidated and harassed employees at Doctor Gray's Medical Office.

Investigators say Davis became upset in August when she discovered her dosage for medication was reduced instead of increased and when they told her she couldn't get a refund.

ISP: Former nurse arrested for insurance fraud

On Tuesday afternoon, Indiana State Police arrested a former nurse.

Police say an investigation revealed she illegally obtained a controlled substance, and defrauded an insurance company on multiple occasions.

Police say 26-year-old Hannah Winkler is currently suspended as a nurse for an unrelated matter.

Winkler was taken to the Gibson County Jail and is currently being held on bond. She is facing nine counts of obtaining a controlled substance.

Police say the case is still under investigation.

Costs providing major challenge to Indiana dairy farmers

In a world of increased feed costs, uncooperative weather and problems with forage quality, high milk prices and strong demand are helping some dairy producers make ends meet.

In the last year, about 75 Indiana dairy farms were forced to close their doors because they didn't make enough money to survive or lost too much, coupled with having to meet increased regulations, said Purdue University dairy specialist Mike Schutz.

After a wet spring and extremely dry summer, silage, hay and other forages are expensive but low in essential components, such as energy.

ISP: Grandma arrested for neglect, meth

Indiana State Police say they arrested a grandmother in Princeton for meth and neglect.

Police say on Friday afternoon, they investigated a complaint and found meth, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia at the home of 42-year-old Tina Livermore.

Police say her 3-year-old granddaughter was home at the time of the search. 

Livermore was arrested and taken to the Gibson County Jail where she is currently being held on bond, and is facing multiple charges.

The toddler was released to her mother.

New attraction part of Heritage Days in Princeton

The Golden Heritage Days Festival started Friday in Princeton and there is a new feature on the square.

The new Pocket Park is open.

The park is on the site of an old bank that was demolished last year.

Designers used limestone from the bank building for the park benches, light poles and the center fountain.

"I think it's really nice. I love it. It's a great place just to hang out with some friends and have lunch from the courthouse. I'm sure they appreciate it too," says Princeton resident Tracey Moseley.

Haubstadt residents asked to put the lid down

The Town of Haubstadt has been working on a sewer project for several months.  Now, notices have been issued to residents that they need to close their toilet lids and put something heavy on top when crews are in the area.

Second man connected with Gibson Co. meth explosion sentenced

Sources say Daniel Freeman, 28, has been sentenced to 15 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Manufacturing Methamphetamines.

The Gibson County Sheriff's Office says there was an explosion at a Princeton home in April, which firefighters say was caused by a meth lab.

Police say Freeman had digital scales, three corner baggies of meth, and approximately 75 psuedoephedrine pills at the time of the arrest.
