Nick Hart named head coach at Gibson Southern | People

Gibson Southern has named Reitz graduate Nick Hart as its new football coach.

Hart, 26, played quarterback or his father John at Reitz and after graduating from USI, joined him as an assistant coach at Warren Central High School, where he’s spent the last few years.

He’ll replace Rick Stefanich, who stepped down after last season.  Gibson Southern was 4-7 in 2011.

Hart served as the Offensive coordinator and Director of Football Operations for the Evansville Bluecats in 2006 and 2007 and also spent last spring as defensive coordinator for the Fairbanks, Alaska Grizzlies of the IFL, which suspended operations after last season.
