Oakland City Mayoral Race a Rematch | Politics
Residents in Oakland City are casting their votes for two familiar candidates in the mayoral race. Independent candidate and former mayor of Oakland City Hugh Wirth is challenging the incumbent, Democrat Alfred Cooper.
This is Cooper's first term in office, after defeating Wirth in the last mayoral election. The margin was only 16 votes.
In both races, there has been no Republican challenger.
