Work starts on SR 64/US 41 ramps next week

A heads up for drivers using State Road 64 as part of their daily commute.  The ramps at SR 64 and U.S. 41 in Princeton will be closing next week.

Beginning Monday, September 24, crews will begin milling the loops at the U.S. 41 and S.R. 64 interchange.  Crews will close one loop, mill off the existing pavement and clean the roadway.  Once complete they will re-open the loop and close another.  This process will continue for all four loops of the interchange.  It is estimated that two loops will be completed each day.

Once all milling and clean up is complete, crews will then begin paving.  The same process will be used, closing one loop at a time and completing the paving.  It is estimated two loops will be completed each day, with all work at the interchange estimated to be complete by Friday, September 28.

Should inclement weather occur, work activities will be pushed back day by day.  During the closure traffic will utilize the other loops of the interchange to reach their desired direction.

This work is a part of a $4.9 million U.S. 41 road resurfacing project that was awarded to E & B Paving of Anderson, Indiana.  The project also includes the construction of turn lanes at the U.S. 41 and S.R. 168 intersection and at U.S. 41 and C.R. 350S. The traffic signals at these intersections will be improved to incorporate the new lanes of traffic. Crews have also milled and paved a near 10 mile stretch of U.S.
