Parts of County Roads 725 East, 825 South to close for I-69 work

The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is announcing that beginning Thursday, June 9, portions of County Roads 725 E and 825 S in Gibson County will close for the construction of the I-69 corridor. 

C.R. 725 E will be closed from the junction of State Road 168 (S.R. 168) to the junction of County Road 600 S (C.R. 600 S). 

C.R. 825 S will be closed from the junction of County Road 600 E (C.R. 600 E) to the junction of County Road 650 E (C.R. 650 E). 

Crews will begin work at approximately 7:00 a.m.

Statewide ban on texting and driving begins July 1

Beginning July 1, it will be illegal for any Hoosier driver to text while behind the wheel.

Earlier this month, Governor Mitch Daniels signed legislation that prohibits the use of any telecommunications device to type, transmit, or read text messages or e-mail while operating a moving motor vehicle.

County Road 125 S to close permanently

County Road 125 S to close permanently

The Indiana Department of Transportation is advising motorists that County Road 125 South (C.R. 125 S) in Gibson County will be closing permanently.

Crews will be closing C.R. 125 S beginning at C.R. 850 East to C.R. 950 East. This will be a permanent closure for the construction of I-69.

Crews will close the road on Wednesday, June 1, at approximately 7:00 a.m. local time. 

No through vehicle traffic will be allowed, however local residents will have access to the point of closure.
