Slight risk for severe thunderstorms

Slight risk for severe thunderstorms

Warmest days of the year so far this year about to be slammed by a potent cold front.

Temps surged into the lower 80s this week and will be near a record high this afternoon.

Thunderstorms will hold off until later tonight and end early on Thursday.  We are still under a slight risk for severe storms, meaning several storms could be packed with large hail...damaging winds with a chance of isolated tornadoes.  In the wake of the front, temps will sink into the mid 50s Friday afternoon.

BE ALERT for severe storms later tonight through early Thursday.

Warmer weather... and allergies on the way

Warmer weather... and allergies on the way

Record cold temperatures below freezing have kept tree pollen from getting too bad so far.  But that's about to change.

Temperatures in the 60s and 70s this weekend and into next week should kick trees into overdrive producing pollen-inducing allergies.

By this time last year, most trees had already blossomed, but our very chilly start to the year has lasted into early spring, meaning all those trees, lawns and flowers and bursting to get going.

Keep your Kleenex handy.

Snowy day in Princeton

Snowy day in Princeton

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...at least it was this morning in Princeton where big flakes came down heavily between 6:30 and 9 a.m.

Thanks to Sue Ellen Parker for this photo.  She asks:  "Why do female cardinals look even more beautiful in the snow? She was in our neighbor's tree."

Great photo, Sue Ellen!
